“I’m just working on an email for a customer. This CEO does not yet know exactly what the problem is in her organisation and that is exactly what the People Change Scan can help with. The Scan can give good insight and help highlight painful issues in the organisation. That is what she needs at the moment. In every organisation something is going on where the Scan offers added value”, says Chantal van Gerven, formula manager of the FranchiseAdviseur.
Three certificates to explain the Scan
“When Rogier Offerhaus approached us to support the franchise formula for the People Change Scan, we were introduced to the Scan itself. We discovered the added value of the Scan for our customers as a tool for the development of their franchise formulas.
That is why Bart van der Schoot, Manon Punjwani and I followed the training and obtained the certificate to be able to use the Scan with the FranchiseAdviseur for our customers.
What does the FranchiseAdviseur do?
Our customers are both franchisors and franchisees, including associations and boards of franchise formulas. If the franchisee hires us, we often also enter into discussions with the franchisor, because it is always about a good balance between giver and buyer.
We draw up legal documents and guide them through strategy and positioning, chair franchise meetings and do mediation. In short, everything that comes with a franchise formula, from the start up to the guidance of long-standing franchise formulas.
When do you apply the People Change Scan?
We use the People Change Scan, for example, if internal communication gets stuck. The Scan then provides insight and from this we make a development plan to get to know and understand yourself and each other better.
With the Scan we have already received an assignment from an organisation in development. Our client wants to redesign the processes. With the Scan we measure the development opportunities of all employees and that supports the restructuring to place the right people in the right place.
How do you inform clients about the Scan?
To clients who are interested, we have sent an email with information and a proposal to visit to tell more about it. We have already held six interviews. Soon we will put the Scan on our website and share it on social media.
Customers looking for new franchisees also want to know whether such a person fits into the organisation. The Scan then helps to gain more insight into who they bring into the company.
The People Change Scan distinguishes itself from other scans because it measures more points and zooms in on the people and their development capacity. So you can use the People Change Scan to determine whether someone fits in with the organisation and can develop in the direction you want your organisation to go.
Previously, we determined this on the basis of our knowledge and experience, and now we have an extra tool that provides just a little more insight, especially into which points we need to zoom in. With the combination of the Scan, our background and expertise, we can give more direction to our advice.
The scan within the organization
At the FranchiseAdviseur we first made the People Change Scan ourselves. Then we talked to each other to discuss our own development points. It gave us more insight about each other, so we have more understanding and acceptance for the background why a colleague does things in a certain way. It also helped us with our own strategic choices. In addition to our knowledge, experience and other factors, the Scan confirmed a number of internal developments.
In my own business performance, the Scan confirmed what I already knew, but what I can now give more attention to. This enables me to take the steps I need. In this way, it is a tool to achieve the results I want.
The Scan focuses on development
Much of consultancy remains stuck in theory and models. The People Change Scan makes the feeling of trust tangible with a substantiated report, especially for those who are visually oriented. People get to know themselves and their colleagues better. But the Scan really distinguishes itself because the focus is on development. How can people develop in the direction that is necessary, that they want and that fits in with the development direction of the organisation?
To really understand how you can use the Scan for other organisations, I recommend that you first do it for yourself with an extensive report discussion. For me it immediately became clear how I can use it for our customers and what the added value is.”
